The Self Help Group

The Self Help Group

The Self Help Group is a Brighton group active from 2009. It forms at the start of that year and plays a folk-influenced style built around banjos, ukuleles, xylophones and guitars. The group begins live work with its first show in London and then plays further dates during the year.

Its songs are simple and melodic, and they focus on unusual happenings from around the world. The arrangements feature layered harmonies over the acoustic instrumentation.
