The Screening
The Screening are a Leicester indie rock quartet who play a synth-led form of indie pop rock with alternative and experimental drone influences. The band emerges from the Leicester scene and performs with an energetic live style.
Releases
The group releases the single You Look Much Better In The Dark through Telescope Records, following the earlier single Diem. Their debut album, We’d All Better Learn How To Swim, is in preparation.
Writing and recording
You Look Much Better In The Dark uses humorous but direct lyrics to tell the story of waking up with someone unexpected. For the single, The Screening work with producer Mark Needham, who also works with We Are Scientists, Bloc Party and The Killers, and the band travels to Los Angeles to finish the album with him.
Recognition
The Screening attract support from Steve Lamacq and Tom Meighan of Kasabian, and receive attention from the music press including NME and Drowned in Sound. They also tour the UK in support of their releases.
