The Rubber Bandits
The Rubber Bandits are a comedy hip-hop duo from Limerick, Ireland, made up of Blindboy Boat Club and Mr Chrome. They work mainly as a satirical stage and television act, combining rap, hip hop and comedy.
Live work and television
The group performs across Ireland, the UK and the USA, and appears at events including Electric Picnic, Oxegen and the Bulmers International Comedy Festival. Their television work is commissioned by RTÉ, MTV and Channel 4. The Channel 4 shorts are directed by Declan Lowney.
Awards and releases
The Rubber Bandits receive awards for both their music and comedy. In 2011 they are named Best Irish Act at the entertainment.ie awards, ahead of Villagers, Fionn Regan and The Script, and they also win an IFTA award for television work. Their debut album, Serious About Men, is released in 2011.
