The Roughneck Riot are a punk group from Manchester, active since 2005. They perform as a six-piece line-up, with Samuel Bell, Caitlin Costello, Chris Green, Matty Humphries, Ryan Taylor and Tez Walker listed as members.

Style and background

The band works in punk with strong folk influences, drawing on traditional folk music from around the world. Career

The Roughneck Riot begin in March 2005 in Warrington and later develop into a six-piece folk-punk band. In 2009, the group undergoes a line-up change and moves from a four-piece to the line-up it uses thereafter. The band plays regularly across the UK and also tours Europe. It supports acts including The Real McKenzies, Sham 69, Demented Are Go!, Street Dogs, Shane MacGowan, The Creepshow, Swingin’ Utters, Talco and The Buccaneers.

Releases

By the end of 2010, the band has its debut album, Night Train with the Reaper. It also releases the four-track EP Same Again Tomorrow. The following period is described as including further UK and European touring, along with plans for a second album.
