The Room Colored Charlatan
The Room Colored Charlatan is a five-piece technical progressive metal group from Indianapolis, with roots in Danville and Lebanon, Indiana. Active since 2010, the band combines progressive metal, deathcore, metalcore, ambient and progressive deathcore influences, and its music is built around intricate polyrhythms, dense guitar work, blast beats, melodic passages and ambient textures.
Style and sound
The group moves between heavy, djent-influenced grooves and more expansive, prog-inspired melodies. Its instrumental approach emphasises technical playing and layered arrangements, with melodic and ambient overtones alongside aggressive rhythms and shredding guitar parts.
Line-up
The band consists of Justin Seymour on guitar and production, Jared Bush on vocals and keys, Adam Dixon on drums, Brent Edelson on guitar and Michael Miller on bass.
Recording
The Room Colored Charlatan’s first full-length album, Between Mirrors: The Quantum Immortality, is released through Subliminal Groove Records.
