The Revolutionary Spirit

The Revolutionary Spirit is a psychedelic rock group that forms around three core members and is based in North Wales. The group is active between 1967 and 1997 in its documented history, and its sound is described through a mix of psychedelic rock, progressive rock, Krautrock and ambient elements.

Style and work

The group’s music focuses on shifting textures and a continuous sense of movement. Their songs combine psychedelic rock with Krautrock and ambient swells, and they are also associated with an ethereal, alternative rock-influenced sound. The band name is linked in the record to a first single titled Last Memories.

Performances and releases

The Revolutionary Spirit perform at festivals in London, including 1-2-3-4, and in Manchester at Friends of Mine. They also support Silver Apples, The Charlatans, S.C.U.M and Neon Indian. They record a session for BBC Introducing and record their debut single with Toby Kidd of Hatcham Social. Their debut single, Last Memories, is issued as a free download by Cool for Cats.
