The Real People
The Real People are a britpop group from Liverpool, United Kingdom, formed in 1988 by the brothers Christopher and Anthony Griffiths. They are described as one of the earliest bands to play the style now known as Britpop, and Oasis cite them as one of their major influences.
Line-up
The original line-up includes Chris Griffiths on guitar and vocals, Tony Griffiths on bass and vocals, Dave Reilly on drums, Jay Norton on keyboards, and Gordon Morgan on guitar. Reilly is later replaced by Tony Elson and then Garry Ford, while Morgan is replaced in turn by Sean Simpson, Alan Gillibrand and Ian “Sitar”. The current line-up includes Tony and Chris Griffiths, Martin Lappin on guitar and Tony McGuigan on drums.
