The Raconteurs

The Raconteurs are an alternative rock group from Detroit, United States, formed in 2005. The line-up consists of Jack White on vocals and guitar, Brendan Benson on vocals and guitar, Jack Lawrence on bass and Patrick Keeler on drums. In Australia, the group is known as The Saboteurs.

Background

The band describes itself as a new group made up of old friends. Jack White is also known for The White Stripes and, with Jack Lawrence, The Dead Weather. Brendan Benson works as a solo singer-songwriter, while Lawrence and Keeler are also members of The Greenhornes.

Releases and related work

The Raconteurs have released three albums: Broken Boy Soldiers, Consolers of the Lonely and Help Us Stranger. Their recorded output sits within alternative pop, alternative rock, blues rock, garage rock, garage rock revival and indie rock. Dean Fertita of The Waxwings plays live keyboards for the band in 2006, and also works with Brendan Benson and The Dead Weather.
