The Racket

The Racket

The Racket is a London-based group with a rock and roll sound and a focus on songs about romance, ice cream and artistic exhibitions. The name is also used for other acts, including soundtracks, but this group forms in East London at the beginning of 2010.

History and style

The band plays a form of rock influenced by The Ramones, and its members describe their approach as one shaped by break-ups, borrowed guitars and a DIY attitude. It plays its first gig on 6 March 2010 at the Old Blue Last in London. Alongside the band, the members also work in other groups, put on club nights and write middle eights.

Members

The line-up consists of Mar Sellars, Lawrence Diamond, Helen MacBain and Liv Willars. Mar Sellars is also involved with the Duloks, Ewoks and Riff Randells, Lawrence Diamond is also in Official Secrets Act, and Helen MacBain is also part of Sexual Hot Bitches.
