The Prophets

The Prophets is a group from the United States, identified as a southern gospel quartet. The name is also used for several unrelated acts, including a reggae and dub band, a UK reggae group, a Chicago-area garage rock band from the 1960s, a pop punk band from Coventry, and a 1960s gospel group.

The reggae and dub act known as The Prophets backs many of Yabby You’s productions in the mid-1970s. It releases one LP, King Tubby’s Prophecies Of Dub, which is distinct from Yabby You’s dub album of the same title. That version is associated with Vivian Jackson, Alric Forbes, Dada Smith, and Bobby Melody.
