The Preatures

The Preatures

The Preatures are an indie rock and indie pop group from Sydney, Australia, active from 2010 to 2021. The line-up includes Isabella Manfredi, Gideon Moss Bensen, Jack Moffitt, Luke Davison, Thomas Champion and Thomas Edward Champion.

The band begins under the name The Preachers, then changes its name to The Preatures in 2012 to avoid confusion with a 1960s American band of the same name. Their early live reputation centres on the contrasting voices of Gideon Bensen and Isabella Manfredi, and the group is described as drawing on influences including Patti Smith and Fleetwood Mac, with a performance style that also recalls Wolfman Jack.

After about a year together, the band releases a self-titled EP and then starts The 66 Project, a collaboration with local artists, filmmakers and producer Tony Buchen, known for work with Tim Finn and WIM. The project is designed to release free music through to May 2011.
