The Pitchforks

The Pitchforks are a United States a cappella group founded in 1979 at Duke University, where they are the oldest a cappella group on campus. They perform across the university and in North Carolina during the academic year, and their appearances range from dorm common rooms to professional sports arenas.

The group has sung the national anthem at Chicago Bulls and Duke basketball games. It also performs for visiting audiences, including an appearance before the Queen of Jordan, and it opens for other acts at Duke events, including Ben Folds at Last Day of Classes in 2009.

The Pitchforks win the CARA Award for Best Male Collegiate Album twice, for Bring It Back in 2006 and Disconcert in 2008. Their album All In also receives recognition as runner-up for Best Male Collegiate Album and wins Best Male Collegiate Song and Best Male Collegiate Arrangement for the single “Fireflies.”
