The Penny Dreadfuls are a United States group associated with LA/California rock. They are also described in different contexts as a comedy act and as a band name used by more than one lineup.

Comedy group

As a sketch comedy troupe, The Penny Dreadfuls consist of Humphrey Ker, David Reed and Thom Tuck. The group has two radio series on the BBC and also broadcasts a comedy play. It performs regularly on the London comedy circuit.

Music acts using the same name

The name is also used by a three-piece band based in Westchester, New York, made up of Mia Oliveri on guitar and vocals, Mackenzie Mollo on bass and vocals, and Ali Garced on drums. The three have known each other for much of their lives and start making music together in freshman year of high school. They are active participants in the Westchester scene and play shows from December 2006.

Another Penny Dreadfuls line-up is a four-piece band that releases a self-titled album on Restless Records in 1996. That version of the group includes Anna Chaffee on vocals, Melanie Wakaiwi on guitar, Chimene Gonzalez on bass and Andrea Sanchez on drums.
