The Outside Agency are a hardcore and drum & bass group from Zeeland, with members Eye-D and Noël Wessels. The act begins in 1996 and remains active. Its work spans hardcore, industrial hardcore, darkcore, gabber and industrial, with a sound built around dark, industrial elements.

Career

The Outside Agency first appears on a release for Mokum Records in 1996. After hardcore changes direction, the duo shifts focus towards drum & bass for a period. Around 2001, when hardcore changes again, they return to the style and resume producing and performing it.

They release music on several underground labels, including Black Monolith Records and Otaku Records, and they also continue to record for Mokum, Hong Kong Violence and Enzyme. Their own label, Genosha Recordings, becomes an important part of their work and is one of the leading labels in dark underground hardcore.

DJ work and releases

As DJs, The Outside Agency present sets that reflect their productions: dark, industrial and flexible in tempo. Their sets often include exclusive and unreleased material, and can also move into older acid and breakcore when they have room to develop the set freely.

The duo also remixes other producers’ tracks. Their performance history includes shows in Austria, Belgium, Canada, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Latvia, Luxembourg, Poland, Russia, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine and the United States.

Notable appearances

Among their significant bookings are Thunderdome, Hellraiser, In Qontrol, Nightmare Outdoor, Defqon.1 and Mystery Land.
