The OBGMs

The OBGMs are a Canadian punk rock band from Toronto, Ontario. The name stands for The oOohh Baby Gimme Mores. The group forms in 2007 and begins as a hip-hop production duo with vocalist Densil McFarlane and drummer Colanthony Humphrey before moving towards a more punk-focused sound. That shift follows an arrest in a racial profiling incident, which also disrupts McFarlane’s plans to attend university in the United States.

Line-up

The band consists of Densil McFarlane on vocals, Joe Brosnan on guitar and Colanthony Humphrey on drums. Jemuel Roberts plays keyboards with the group in the mid-2010s, but is no longer part of the band.

Releases and recognition

The OBGMs release their debut EP, Interchorus, in 2009. Their 2020 album The Ends becomes their best-known release and is shortlisted for the 2021 Polaris Music Prize.
