The band develops from their shared interest in classic rock and in songs that evoke travel, night journeys and the idea of a classic soundtrack.

Strid is also associated with Soilwork, while Andersson is linked to Mean Streak and session work with Soilwork.
Style and albums
The Night Flight Orchestra works in AOR, classic rock and hard rock, and its stated aim is to recover the melodic style associated with 1970s and early 1980s classic songwriting. The band has released six studio albums: Internal Affairs, Skyline Whispers, Amber Galactic, Sometimes the World Ain't Enough, Aeromantic, Aeromantic II and Give Us the Moon.
Background
The project begins as a touring-era idea between Strid and Andersson, who build it around the idea of music for movement, road travel and escape. Their references range across classic rock and hard rock songcraft, with an emphasis on memorable melody and the kind of song titles and themes that fit the group’s “classic” concept.
