The New Roses
The New Roses are a German hard rock band from Wiesbaden, active since 2007. The group centres on singer Timmy Rough, and its line-up also includes Urban Berz, Dizzy Presley and Stefan Kassner.
Background
The band begins in the Rheingau region of Germany and builds a career across club shows, tours and festivals in Germany and abroad. Its early breakthrough comes through the title track of the debut album Without a Trace, which appears on the compilation for the US television series Sons of Anarchy and is also used for the series’ DVD trailer campaign in Germany.
Releases and chart success
The New Roses release a sequence of albums through Napalm Records, a worldwide deal with Universal: Without a Trace (2013), Dead Man's Voice (2016), One More for the Road (2017), Nothing But Wild (2019), Sweet Poison (2022) and Attracted To Danger (2024). Their records repeatedly place high in the German charts. Nothing But Wild, which includes the rock radio track “Down By The River”, reaches number 10 in Germany, while Sweet Poison also reaches the German Top 20.
Style and live work
Musically, the band draws on glam metal and heavy metal as well as hard rock traditions associated with Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Kid Rock, Metallica and The Black Crowes. The New Roses tour widely in Germany and internationally, and play major European festivals including Hellfest, Sweden Rock, Hard Rock Hell, Masters of Rock and Rockfest Barcelona. They also share stages with artists including Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, The Scorpions and KISS.
Notable appearances
The band is invited to KISS Kruise in Miami as the only German band to appear there, and later serves as special guests on part of KISS’s End of the Road world tour. Other touring highlights include dates in Russia in 2019 and a performance in Afghanistan in 2017 at Camp Marmal in Mazar-e-Sharif for international forces involved in the Resolute Support mission.
