The Musical Box
The Musical Box is a Canadian group formed in 1993. It is known for staging close recreations of Genesis concerts from the 1972 to 1975 period, including shows associated with Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.
The band is the only act officially licensed by Genesis and Peter Gabriel. It uses instruments and sound equipment associated with Genesis in the 1970s, along with replicas of stage props, including Peter Gabriel’s costumes, and copies of slides shown during Genesis concerts.
Members of Genesis from the 1972 to 1975 line-up attend the band’s performances, and Steve Hackett and Phil Collins sometimes join on stage to play parts from their original guitar and drum performances. Tony Banks is noted as having viewed only a video recording of a concert.
Members
The group consists of David Myers, Sébastien Lamothe, Martin Levac, Denis Gagné and Gregg Bendian.
