The Moon Kids

The Moon Kids are a four-piece band from Dunfermline, active from 2015. They make pop music and describe a sound built around bright lights, chiming guitars, strong hooks and fairground-style energy, with a carnival feel in performance.

Career and live work

The band begins performing live in 2013 and quickly builds a reputation for energetic shows. Their sets feature at major summer festivals including T In The Park and Wickerman, and their songs are described as a lively reworking of classic pop influences. They also play alongside acts including Embrace, Shed Seven and The View.

The Moon Kids record and work in the studio with Michael Brennan Jnr, who has produced for Snow Patrol, Super Furry Animals and Mogwai. They also perform live acoustic sessions for AU Review and BBC radio, and a feature in LA-based Groundsounds leads to a slot on BBC TV.

Their first official release, The Moon Kids EP, wins radio play and attracts attention from the national press. Their single Luna Park also receives positive notice, with coverage describing the band as one of the more exciting new acts around.
