The Moles

The Moles are an Australian group led by Richard Davies, who later appears in the one-off project Cardinal. They form in the late 1980s and are active between 1988 and 1996. The band is named after Cold War spies rather than small animals.

The group releases the album Untune the Sky and several singles before breaking up in the early 1990s. Davies later revives the name for Instinct, which is in practice a solo project.

The name has also been used by other acts: a 1960s British group that later becomes Gentle Giant, and an internet-based collaboration of Residents fans active between 1999 and 2005.
