The Mean Reds
The Mean Reds are an Australian trio associated with punk, dance punk, hard rock and hardcore. They form in 2003 in Tucson, Arizona, before relocating in 2004 to Silver Lake, Los Angeles, California. The group releases one full-length LP, three EPs and a split album with DVD alongside Los Angeles rock band Wires On Fire.
Line-up and name
The band features Anthony Anzalone, Wilson Snider, Nick Letson, Byron Hambacher and Kyle Gutiérrez. Their name comes from the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s, which also connects to the band’s interest in Audrey Hepburn.
Activity and live reputation
The Mean Reds build a reputation for raucous live performances and play several regional tours before breaking up on 31 October 2005. They are also noted for an affinity with Disney Channel artist Hilary Duff.
