The Manor

The Manor are a London UK pop, hip-hop and grime trio. The group forms around MCs Scott de Lima, Jonathan Dixon and Daniel Peck, and they begin in south London after the members meet at Beckenham College.

Early years and style

The trio start out playing local pubs and clubs, and they build a following with a rough-edged approach to British hip-hop and grime. Their lyrics cover drinking, partying and smoking weed, but they also address social injustice, racism and poverty, especially in their local area.

Releases and profile

The Manor first release Welcome to the Manor as a free mixtape, followed by Free Mixtapes Don’t Pay the Rent, which includes the track “Alors en Graft.” Videos on SBTV’s YouTube channel help raise their profile, and the group also receive airplay on BBC 1xtra and support from Mike Skinner of The Streets.

After putting the group on hold for a period while the members juggle university studies, The Manor return with the mixtape Don’t Do What We Did. They later sign to Parlophone and release the EP Weak Days, Strong Nights, while also playing larger shows, including a sold-out performance at Koko in Camden.

Later singles

The Manor score a minor hit with “The Sesh” and continue with singles including “Out ’Ere” and “Ibiza.”
