The Lucid Dream

The Lucid Dream are a UK group formed in Carlisle, Cumbria, in 2008 and active from 2008 to the present. They release music on Fruits de Mer Records. Their sound is associated with shoegaze, psychedelic rock, neo-psychedelia and experimental music.

Background

The band builds a reputation through a run of sold-out EPs and 7-inch singles, including Love In My Veins, Heartbreak Girl and Hits Me Like I'm Stoned. They also attract attention from NME, Q, Frank Skinner on Absolute Radio, Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 2, and a range of BBC 6 Music presenters including Nemone, Lauren Laverne, Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson.

The Lucid Dream support A Place To Bury Strangers on a UK tour, then go on to support Death In Vegas, after earlier supports with Spectrum, Crocodiles, Captain Beefheart's The Magic Band and The Aliens.

Releases

The group have two sold-out EPs and three sold-out 7-inch singles among their early releases, and they work towards a debut album during the early 2010s. The band also has a retrospective release issued in June 2012.

Line-up

The Lucid Dream include Dave Battersby on vocals, Ant Walker on guitar, Craig “Spadge” Sparey on keyboards, Andrew “Smurf” Mirfin on drums and Andrew Watkins on bass. John Page later plays live rhythm guitar.
