The Lovely Eggs
The Lovely Eggs are a two-piece band from Lancaster, United Kingdom, formed in 2006 and active since then. Their music sits across garage punk, garage rock, indie pop, indie rock and pop punk, and they are also described as a lo-fi psychedelic punk rock band.
Line-up and background
The group consists of Holly Ross and David Blackwell, who are married. Ross previously sings and plays guitar in Angelica, an all-female band. The Lovely Eggs begin as a duo and remain a two-piece act.
Early activity and recognition
The band plays its first gig in New York City before returning to the UK for shows across the country. They gain wider attention through radio support on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6, including play from Marc Riley, Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq.
