The Lounge Society
The Lounge Society are a post-punk group from Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire, England. The band consists of Cameron Davey on vocals and bass, Herbie May on guitar, Hani Paskin-Hussain on guitar, and Archie Dewis on drums.
The group emerges from the Pennine towns of rural West Yorkshire and works with the label Speedy Wunderground. Their music is identified with post-punk, and their activity also sits within the wider currents of punk rock, art punk, indie rock and dance-punk.
In 2020, the band releases its debut EP, Silk For The Starving, followed by a debut studio album in 2022. Its singles and live performances help build momentum for the group.
The EP includes BURN THE HEATHER, described as the band’s biggest track. The song addresses local landowners’ practice of burning heather on moorland before grouse shooting, and links that local subject to broader political themes.
