The Lasting Days
The Lasting Days are a Bristol indie rock group active since 2007. Their sound is described as americana-influenced indie rock, and they are known for high-energy live performances. They play festivals in the UK and internationally, including The Big Chill Festival, Beautiful Days and Larmer Tree Festival.
Releases
The band releases its third album, We Simplify, which includes the title track, the narrative song Speak easy and Come round (I’ll put some records on), a track built around violin. Earlier releases include the self-titled debut EP The Lasting Days, October looking South and various label samplers. We Simplify follows October looking South and shows a fuller, more textured sound.
Band line-up
The group is fronted by songwriter Richard Smith, who sings and plays guitar and violin. Sarah Proudfoot plays rhythm guitar and sings harmonies, while Pete Beddoes, Richard Riley and Dorian Childs-Prophet make up the rhythm section.
Recognition
The Lasting Days gain wider exposure when their music features on the travel programme Departures.
