The Klezmatics

The Klezmatics are a klezmer and folk group from the East Village in New York, formed in 1986 and still active. Based in New York City, they perform an updated form of klezmer and combine it with other musical traditions. Their songs are performed in both English and Yiddish.

The group is known for cross-cultural collaboration, including work with the Palestinian musician Simon Shaheen. The current members listed are Alicia Svigals, Lisa Gutkin, Richie Barshay, Matt Darriau, David Licht, Frank London, Paul Morrissett and Lorin Sklamberg.
