The Jones Gang

The Jones Gang is a UK rock band formed in 2001. The group centres on Robert Hart on vocals, Kenney Jones on drums and Rick Wills on bass.

Members and background

Hart previously sings with Bad Company and The Distance and also has an established solo career and a long songwriting history, including work with a number of other artists. Jones plays with The Faces, The Small Faces and The Who. Wills works with Peter Frampton's Camel, The Small Faces and Foreigner.

Collaborators and recording

The band also uses a rotating group of guest musicians, including Dave "Bucket" Colwell, Ronnie Wood, Richie Barrett, Gary Grainger, Steve Smith and Josh Philips. Ronnie Wood also creates the album artwork. Backing vocals come from Hannah White, Andrea Dickenson and Mark Reid.

Release history

“Angel” is written by Hart long before the band's debut and appears as the group's debut single in 2005. It spends 11 weeks at number one on the ACQB US Radio chart.

Other project

The Jones Gang name also refers to an improvisation project featuring C Spencer Yeh, Trevor Tremaine, Derek de Soleil, Satya Sai Jehovah and Wand Jehovah, with instruments and roles including drums, voice, saxophone and guitar.
