The Jins

The Jins are a Canadian grunge and alternative rock band from Vancouver, active since 2014. The group consists of Ben Larsen, Jamie Warnock and Hudson Partridge. Larsen performs vocals and guitar, Warnock plays drums, and Partridge plays bass.

History

The band forms in Vancouver in 2014, when Larsen and Warnock begin performing together. Larsen later meets Partridge while they are both studying animation, and the three settle on the current lineup in 2015. The band name is said to be inspired by pigeons.

Recordings

The Jins release their first album, The Jins, in 2017 on Bandcamp. They follow it with the EP Death Wish in 2019. In 2023 they release It’s a Life, produced by Dave Genn and mixed by Adam Kasper, through 604 Records. Their 2024 single “Crutch” also comes out on 604 Records.

Notable tracks and chart positions

“Metro” peaks at number two on the Canadian Breaking Alt chart in 2022. “Crutch” also reaches number two on the same chart in 2024.

Touring

The Jins tour North America as support for Buckcherry, Hockey Dad and Rare Americans.
