The Jeremiahs
The Jeremiahs are an Irish folk group based in Dublin. They form in 2013 and play a blend of traditional and contemporary music that they describe as urban folk. The group tours across Ireland and Europe and appears at a range of major venues and festivals.
Line-up
The quartet consists of Joe Gibney on vocals and whistle, Brian Corry on tin whistle, flute and fiddle, James Ryan on guitar and bouzouki, and Jean Christophe Morel on fiddle.
Style and background
Their music draws on folk and Celtic traditions, with a sound that combines acoustic arrangement, whistle and fiddle playing, and contemporary song writing. The name is also shared by an unrelated UK band from Basingstoke formed in the late 1980s, but the Dublin group is the Irish folk act active from 2013.
