The Jelly Beans
The Jelly Beans are a vocal group from Jersey City, United States, active from 1962 to 1965. The group includes Diane Taylor, Charlie Thomas, Alma Brewer, and Maxine and Elyse Hebert.
They are best known for recording only three records in total. The group is managed by Bill Downs, and a connection with producers at Red Bird Records leads to its first recording. Its best-known song, “I Wanna Love Him So Bad,” is a gritty pop single that connects with teenage audiences in the summer of 1964.
The members are described as just out of high school when the group becomes an overnight success, after which it begins a demanding run of one-night performances.
