The Islanders

The Islanders are an ambient electro group from Spain. They are associated with celtic, psychill, ambient, folk and exotic styles.

The name is used for more than one recorded act in the available information. One version is described as a band playing Hawaiian music in the 1970s, with an album titled Latin Dance Party. Another is a Scottish folk band active in the 1960s and 1970s.

Scottish folk line-up and releases

The Scottish folk group releases three albums: a titleless album in 1965, another titleless album in 1968, and Patterns of Folk in 1971. Its line-up includes Iain MacKintosh on vocals and banjo, Jim Craig on vocals and guitar, Nancy Craig on vocals, and John Noble on vocals and guitar.

The group is made up of Ernesto Altes and Guillermo Morro.
