The Illegals are described as a two-person band from a tin shed in Mexico, formed after the pair listen to old AC/DC records. The act is presented as ghost punk with reggae influences and a connection to Kitzingen.

The group’s story centres on an attempted crossing into the United States, during which the members travel without food or water, cause trouble along the way, and later record material from that journey. They are then deported back to Mexico and try to cross again.

Their recorded material is said to include songs made during the trip to the border.
