George and Matt met while studying music practice at South Devon College and formed the band. They quickly became the most popular band in college, playing the graduation ball etc. Once they started playing the local pubs and clubs they quickly became the most popular band in Torbay too!
The Iconyx are NOT 80's-pilfering synth-hounds or south London wordsmith wonders, banjo-playing folk retrogrades, large-lunged red-haired mystiques, falsetto-voiced pompousness or air-headed auto-tuned bimbettes.
Their style is a familar one in pop history. Plain english lyrics that speak for a generation through ultra-catchy tunes that will have you humming for weeks. Think Madness, The Housemartins, Blur, The Streets, Lily Allen, Bombay Bicycle Club, but playing for a generation born in the 1990's.
