The Humdrum Express
The Humdrum Express is a solo project from the heart of England. The act centres on one man using a range of instruments and an approach shaped by home recording. Its sound is described through dusty amps, tangled leads, retro effects and written observations, with a cynical view of everyday life.
Releases
The project releases three full albums: All Aboard, Little Victories and Elevation Of Trivia. It has been active with album releases since May 2005.
Live work and style
Live performances are stripped back to acoustic arrangements. The project is presented as a travelling solo act rather than a full band setup.
Performances and associations
The Humdrum Express has played gigs with Half Man Half Biscuit, John Cooper Clarke, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, The Wombats, Bob Mould, I Ludicrous, Evan Dando, Vic Godard, Chas Hodges and Stephen Duffy.
