The Hoax

The Hoax are a UK blues rock group from Wiltshire, England. The band forms in 1991 and is active from 1994 to 1999, with a later reunion in 2010.

Line-up and formation

The band includes Hugh Coltman on vocals and harmonica, Jon Amor on guitar, Jesse Davey on guitar, Robin Davey on bass, and Dave Raeburn on drums, later replaced by Mark Barrett. The Davey brothers later continue making music as The Davey Brothers and in solo work.

Recordings and labels

The Hoax first release two albums on Code Blue, a label that was formerly part of Atlantic Records. They then leave to form their own label, Credible Records, where they issue two further albums and an EP before the band disbands in 1999.

Their album discography includes Sound Like This, Unpossible, Humdinger, Live Forever, and 2010 A Blues Odessey. 2010 A Blues Odessey appears alongside the 2010 reunion tour, and the group also releases a live DVD from that tour.
