The Hearing

The Hearing is an indie rock group from Québec City, Québec. Its sound is described through references to early Verve, Oceansize and Explosions in the Sky, with a focus on expansive, atmospheric guitar-based music and sparse use of vocals.

Debut album

The band’s debut album is a 50-minute release made up of eight tracks of dark, dramatic and experimental material. It appears in December 2007 and establishes a style built around immersive sound and carefully placed vocals rather than constant singing.

Line-up and background

The Hearing is also described as a solo project by Ringa Manner, who is associated with Ruusut and Pintandwefall. In that account, the project starts in Helsinki, Finland in 2011.
