The Harriets

The Harriets are an indie group from Leeds. They form in 2006 when Stu, who also plays in Coffee Jar Slide, and Renee, from Terfirma, join forces. The line-up later expands to a four-piece with Glenn, from Crashpod, on bass and Dan on drums.

Style and membership

The group plays an alternative pop style with earthy, folk-influenced elements. Their sound is described as a mix of guitar-led and vocal-led parts, and the songs are presented as having a strong melodic pull. The members are Stu on guitar, Renee on vocals, Glenn on bass and Dan on drums.

Context

There is also a separate Harriets entry associated with Osaka in Japan, but this group is the Leeds-based act.
