The Graces
The Graces are an American pop rock band from the United States, active from 1987 to 1992. The group features Charlotte Caffey, Meredith Brooks, Gia Ciambotti and Chrissy Shefts, and is identified with late-1980s and early-1990s rock and pop.
History
The band forms in 1988 and includes Charlotte Caffey, known from the Go-Go's, alongside Meredith Brooks and Gia Ciambotti. It releases its debut album, Perfect View, on A&M Records in 1989. The first single, "Lay Down Your Arms", reaches number 56 on the Billboard Hot 100, but the album and later singles do not perform strongly.
In 1991, the band is dropped by its label and Brooks leaves. Chrissy Shefts replaces her, and the group continues to perform live. The Graces are close to signing again when Gia Ciambotti is offered a position in the Bruce Springsteen band, after which the group disbands in 1992 without recording a second album.

Charlotte Caffey later sees "Lay Down Your Arms" covered by her former bandmate Belinda Carlisle on Carlisle's 1993 album Real.
