The Good Guys

The Good Guys is a group name used by two acts: one from Serbia and one from Switzerland. The Serbian project consists of Bojan Cizmic and Andrija Kovac, long-time friends from Novi Sad who work as a producer and a designer. The Swiss act forms a DJ and producer team that starts in 2004 after the pair knows each other for more than 10 years and works from a small studio in Zurich.

Serbia

The Serbian Good Guys present a live audio-visual format, with audio by Cell D and video by Xtrapurified. They are described as new rave pioneers from Serbia and tour with this audio-video performance in 2008 and 2009. Their music is described as a mixture of folk, guitars and samplers with heavy compression, and their approach also extends to video work. They sample and remix material from different styles, including 1970s disco and 1990s folk, and reject genre boundaries.

Switzerland

The Swiss Good Guys work as a production and remix outfit. Their first production, Give Up The Funk, is released in 2005 on Elan Records in the USA and the Netherlands in collaboration with Ian Carey. The track receives support from Axwell, Shapeshifters, Groove Junkies, Major Boys, Danny Marquez and The Beginerz, and appears in several hype charts across Europe. Their follow-up single, Lose Control, receives regular plays from Erick Morillo and Pete Tong, along with support from Michael Gray, Stonebridge, Timmy Vegas, Kid Creme, Richard Earnshaw, Warren Clarke and Hardsoul. It is licensed internationally and reaches the Top 40 in several countries.

They tour internationally in countries including Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, Spain, Austria, Germany and others. They also produce original tracks and remixes for Ian Carey, Thomas Gold, Avicii, Tune Brothers, Jorgensen, Filthy Rich, Major Boys and Pepper Mashay, with several Top 10 chart placements on Beatport and elsewhere. Alongside studio work and club dates, they host a radio show called Funk Fabric on various stations with international guest DJs.
