The Freeze
The Freeze are a punk and hardcore punk group from Massachusetts, United States. The band is active from 1978 to the present and is associated with the Boston hardcore scene. Its members are Rick Andrews, Lou Cataldo, Clif Croce and Bob Decradle.
Style and themes
The group is known for dark lyrics and original punk rock melodies. Much of its early writing deals with alienation, drug use and abuse, and paranoia, particularly around government power and the Reagan-Bush years. Another recurring theme is apathy, especially in relation to people who accept restrictions on freedom in the name of security.
Context
The Freeze are one of two bands that have used the name, but this lineup is the US punk band from Massachusetts.
