The Fiction

The Fiction is a New York group active between 2001 and 2005. It is a math rock, screamo, hardcore, punk, and post-punk act, and the name is also used by several other bands in different locations and styles.

Line-up

The New York group includes Colin Bartoldus, Dima Drjuchin, Marc Grillo, and Adam Paterson. In its recorded lineup, Colin Bartoldus handles vocals and guitar, Dima Drjuchin plays bass and provides vocals, and Marc Grillo plays drums. Later recording credits also list Marc Bungaroth on bass and Adam Schwartz on guitar and vocals.

Background

The band begins in late 2001 in New York City. It includes former members of EM-50, Six of One, Kaneda, Freebooters, and Corrupt Autopilot. Its sound develops significantly from one record to the next, combining a range of influences into a more unified style.
