The Far Meadow

The Far Meadow is a progressive rock group from the City of London. It forms as a five-piece made up of Eliot Minn on keyboards, Paul Bringloe on drums, Paul Mallatratt on bass, Jon Barry on guitars and NOK on voices. Before using this name, the same musicians are active as Blind Panic.

Style and influences

The band’s music draws on classic rock and progressive rock, with references to Yes, Genesis, Rush, Focus, Soft Machine, Deep Purple, King Crimson, Gentle Giant and Plackband. It also takes influence from later progressive acts such as Spock’s Beard, The Flower Kings, RPWL, Rocket Scientists and Dream Theater. Their sound additionally incorporates funk, soul, classical music, jazz and blues.

Releases and line-up changes

The Far Meadow release their debut album, Where Joys Abound, as a digital download in 2012. By that point, the group also adds Denis Warren on guitars and Keith Buchman on bass, expanding the line-up to strengthen the band musically and technically.
