The Ex & Brass Unbound is a collaboration between the Dutch post-punk group The Ex and a horn section made up of Ab Baars, Mats Gustafsson, Ken Vandermark, Roy Paci and Wolter Wierbos.
Line-up
Ab Baars is a Dutch horn player. Mats Gustafsson is Swedish. Ken Vandermark is based in Chicago and associated with jazz. Roy Paci is Italian. Wolter Wierbos is described as a classical and futurist player.
Style
The project combines groove, ecstatic noise, free jazz and rock, with a strong emphasis on performance and dynamics.
