The Evil Usses

The Evil Usses are a Bristol-based psychedelic jazz-rock group. They form in 2013 and meet at Dartington College of Arts before relocating to a disused library in Bristol, where they begin developing their sound through experimentation with effects pedals and unusual performance ideas. The group is presented as a four-piece made up of sax, electric guitar, bass and drums, and their music is described as moving between experimental jazz, psychedelic rock, jazz rock and related styles.

The band’s early history includes a psychedelic fishing trip in East Anglia, after which they continue with only limited equipment and later settle in Bristol to learn their instruments more thoroughly. Their performances include open-air shows with gymnastic elements, and they also tour motorway service stations across the south-west of England before that run ends with their arrest by Wiltshire police. A member called Conrad Singh is associated with the group.

The Evil Usses are also described as available for secular weddings and grown-up birthdays.
