The Embers

The Embers are an American beach music group from the United States. They have played beach music around the Carolinas since 1958 and are associated with the beach music, surf, surf rock, rock and roll and doo-wop traditions. The group is formed by drummer and band leader Bobby Tomlinson, and Craig Woolard and Johnny Barker are members.

Career

The Embers are known for the song “I Love Beach Music”, and they have popularity during the 1970s and 1980s. Their first nationwide song is “Far Away Places”, which appears in 1969 on the MGM label.

Identity

The name also applies to a separate country rock band from Sussex, England, but the American beach music band is the group described here.
