The Early Years are a rock group from London, United Kingdom, active since 2004. The group includes Brendan Kersey, Roger Mackin, David Malkinson and Phil Raines. The band forms as a trio in 2004 and later becomes a four-piece.

Style and sound

The Early Years play a sound associated with shoegaze, post-rock, alternative, indie rock and krautrock. Their music centres on layered psychedelic guitar textures, with feedback, drones, distortion and wah set against a steady, metronomic beat.
