The Dials

The Dials are a garage rock group from Chicago, United States, active from 2002. They are listed as playing garage rock, and one earlier Brighton-based band with the same name is described as forming in 2002 and blending psychedelic garage, country, surf and folk music.

Recordings and sessions

The Brighton group associated with the name releases material on Gear Discs. Their albums include The Dials and Companions of the Rosy Hours. Their singles include The Coracle, Where Did Our Love Go? and Watch Her Walk Away. They also record sessions for BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music.

Other acts using the name

Several other bands are also known as The Dials. One is a Scottish indie rock band with Joe Hendry on lead vocals and guitar, Murray Dunn on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Jonny Fordie on drums and backing vocals. Another is a 1960s-style girl-garage and power-pop act influenced by 1980s punk and roll. A further version is the project formed by former Cramps guitarist Bryan Gregory after leaving Beast, later becoming The Veil; that line-up includes Andrella Canne, James Christopher, Moses Choi and John Bechtel, and it releases one self-titled tape containing an unreleased EP and demos from its 1992–1995 period.
