The Dead Lay Waiting
The Dead Lay Waiting are a metal band from Swindon, England. They form in 2008 and sign to Rising Records in 2009. The group plays deathcore and related extreme metal styles, including metalcore, melodic metalcore, death metal and melodic deathcore.
Career
The band releases its debut album, We Rise, in 2010. It goes on to play festivals including Bloodstock in 2008, Hammerfest in 2009 and Download in 2010, and it supports acts such as Bleed From Within, Trigger The Bloodshed and Black Veil Brides. The group also receives nominations from Kerrang!, Metal Hammer and the Golden Gods for best newcomer and underground band categories.
The Dead Lay Waiting later release Almost Heaven, which includes the single and video The Days I’m Gone. Barry Clayton, known as the voice of the intro to Iron Maiden’s The Number of the Beast, appears on the album. The track The Days I’m Gone reaches number 6 on the Scuzz TV music playlist. Around this period the band also appears on Scuzz TV with a take-over and Guilty Pleasures programme and performs a live lounge session on XFM Radio.
In 2013 the band releases the EP Ascent of The Murder. Later that year, the group announces that it is no longer active. Frontman Luke Lucas plans a solo EP, while the other members form a new band.

The band consists of Luke Lucas on lead vocals, Steve Franklin on guitar, Sam Sara on bass and vocals, Ben Connett on guitar and vocals, and Tom Shrimpton on drums.
