The Dauntless Elite
The Dauntless Elite is a punk rock group from Leeds, formed in late 2003 from members of two earlier bands: Joe Ninety and Fig.4.0. The line-up includes Lee Wall on vocals and guitar, Andrew Jackson on bass, Joe Alderdice on vocals and guitar, and Stephen Hastwell on drums.
Style and background
The band plays punk rock influenced by American Steel, Snuff and Leatherface. Their own description places them close to those groups, and they also note the overlap between their sound and that style of UK and US punk.
Releases
The Dauntless Elite release a six-track Security? EP on Plan-It-X Records, and that record also appears on 10-inch vinyl through Somebody's Song Records. They also record a split 7-inch with Jets Vs Sharks and another split 7-inch with Japanese band The Because, issued on Snuffy Smile Records in Japan.
Another split 7-inch pairs them with The Mercury League from Sunderland on Germany's Yo Yo Records. Their first full-length album is Graft. The CD edition is a collaboration between Plan-It-X Records and Bombed Out, while the gatefold vinyl edition is split between Bombed Out and the band’s own Cool Tool Records.
